Michael W. Findley
Chief of Police
Chief Findley, originally
from Alabama, has resided in Aiken since 1965. He is single and has one
son, Kent. Chief Findley attended the University of South Carolina and
graduated in 1974 with a AS in Criminal Justice. He also attended USC
Aiken and graduated in 1981 with a BA degree. He worked for the City
of Aiken Department of Public Safety from 1974-1980, obtaining the rank
of Sergeant. In 1987 he came to work at USC Aiken. He is USC Aiken's
first full time,
certified police officer. His hobbies include Korean
karate and self defense, Corvettes, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, shag
dancing and computers.

- Certified Instructor in Crisis Intervention specializing in Domestic, Psychological and Suicidal Intervention.
- Trained by New York City Police as Hostage and Terrorists Negotiator and Instructor.
- S.C. Criminal Justice Academy- received J.P. Strom Award and Distinguished Graduate.
