 Officer Dave Jalbert

    Police Officer

 

Dave Jalbert is originally from Connecticut. He is married to his wife Debra. They recently moved to Aiken from Florida were they had resided for the past eight years. Dave started his police career in 1973 were he was employed as a part time Police Officer in his home town of Guilford, Ct. In  1975 - 1985 Dave worked with the  Yale University Police Department. He was assigned to the Patrol Division, Detective Division and Motorcycle Unit. While employed by Yale University, Dave was assigned on a Joint Task Force with the City of New Haven Police Dept. This Task Force dealt with “Street Crimes” robberies, narcotic sales and prostitution. In 1985 Dave transferred to the City of New Haven Police Dept until his retirement in 1998. During his tenure with NHPD, Dave was assigned to numerous divisions, Patrol, Street Crime Suppression Unit, K-9 Unit and the Traffic Division as a Motorcycle Officer. Upon being promoted to Sergeant, Dave was assigned to the Patrol Division. He then became the Commanding Officer of the Traffic / Mounted Units. Dave was also responsible for the training of new Police Motorcycle Officers. Dave was selected to attend a Fellowship program at Yale University Child Study Center. After his retirement Dave and his wife moved to Florida. Dave was them employed by the City of Sanibel Police Dept from 1999-2007. Prior to his retirement from Sanibel, Dave was a Corporal / Senior Officer in charge of the Traffic Division.  During Dave’s Law Enforcement career he has received numerous Police Commendations including the 2007 “Officer Of The Year” by the Lee County Florida Bar Association and  a Meritorious Service Award for disarming an armed man that had been holding hostages.

Certified as a Police K-9 Handler

Certified Yale University Community Policing Fellowship

Certified by FEMA

Certified as a Master Marksman from the National Rifle Association
