Officer Steve Ryan, originally from Boston, moved to the Aiken area in 1990 to attend USCA.  In 1994 Steve began his law enforcement career as a Deputy with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.  Steve graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in spring of 1995.  Steve was involved with several specialized units while at the Sheriff’s Office, the Bloodhound Tracking Team, A.C.E Team for drug interdiction, and D.A.R.E. to name a few.  Steve became a field training officer in 1997 and was later promoted to Corporal of the D.U.I. Task where he received the Governors Award for Traffic Safety in 2001.  Steve has an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice.  Steve is also the owner of Carolina Cab here in Aiken a local Taxi company that he and his father started in 2006 www.carolinacabllc.com
