(FAQ’S)

Frequently Asked questions:

1.Can I bring my own firearms?

Yes, just as long as you bring your own ammo, except for .22 caliber.  No magnum ammunition is allowed. You are allowed one free box of 12 gauge shells if you want to shoot skeet or trap.  If you want to shoot more, you will have to bring your own shells.  The club has 12 ga. shotguns, .22 rifles, and .22 pistols.

2. How do you get to the range?

Coming from the by-pass 118, you would make a right onto Silverbluff and follow that straight.  You should pass Pine Log rd., Gemlakes, Beaver Creek and Woodside.  Take a right on Boyd Pond rd. and a left on Bond ct.  You should go up 2 hills and on the right should be a yellow gate.  If we plan to meet, the yellow gate should be open and follow that down to the range.   The range is a private club not owned by the university.  You may not go out unless accompanied by an advisor.

3. How much are dues and how often do we pay?

Dues to be in the club are $5.00 for the semester.  Students do not have to pay for targets and club shotguns are available for student use.

4. What do I have to bring?

Students who plan to shoot a pistol or rifle need to bring your own firearm and ammunition.  All students are responsible for their own eye and ear protection (eyeglasses, sunglasses and lab protective glasses are okay and inexpensive foam earplugs will be fine).  Students must dress appropriately (no sandals) and bring water.  There are restroom facilities at the range (not a privy or Port-O-Let!!!)

5. Can we bring a guest?

Associate memberships are available for non-USCA students, however they must accompany a student, pay a small charge and bring their own targets, firearms and ammunition.

6. How often does the club meet at the range?

The schedule varies and is open to change.   Check this website periodically.
