Fall Semester 2005

April 4 (Mon) - Advisement for Summer/Fall 2005 begins for currently enrolled students.

April 11 - 15 (Mon - Fri) - Priority Registration for Summer/Fall 2005 for currently enrolled students.

April 15 (Fri) - Last day for Priority Registration for Summer/Fall 2005 for currently enrolled students.

August 12 - 15 (Fri - Mon) - Walk-in fee processing in the Finance Office, Penland Administration Building, Room 114, from 9 a.m - 5 p.m. on August 12th and from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on August 15th for those students who participated in Priority Registration and need to apply Financial Aid in person. 

August 12 (Fri) - VIP re-opens at 9 a.m. - Students who registered during Priority Registration may make schedule adjustments via VIP beginning on August 12th.

August 15 (Mon) - VIP closes at 6 p.m.  1st Cancellation of schedules for non-payment of fees at 6 p.m.

August 16 (Tue) - VIP re-opens at 9 a.m.  New students, re-admit students, transfer students, and transient students registration and fee processing -1 p.m. - 6 p.m. continuously in the Penland Administration Building.

August 17 (Wed) - New students, re-admit students, transfer students, and transient students registration and fee processing - 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. continuously in the Penland Administration Building.

Registration and fee processing for continuing students -            1 p.m. - 6 p.m. continuously in the Penland Administration Building.

August 17 (Wed) - VIP closes at 6 p.m.  2nd cancellation of schedules for non-payment of fees at 6 p.m.

August 18 (Thu) - UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE CLASSES BEGIN.  VIP re-opens at 9 a.m.

August 18 - 24 (Thu - Wed) - Late registration and schedule adjustments - 9:00am - 6:00pm in the Registration Center, 109 Penland Administration Building.  VIP will also be available all week as well as FDR from some advisors.  Note: the Registration Center will close at 5:00pm on Friday, August 19th.

August 24 (Wed) - Last day to register and/or change your schedule for Fall 2005 classes in Sessions A002 and N002.  Last day to drop a course or withdraw without record for Fall 2005 classes in Sessions A002 and N002.  Last day to elect/revoke audit option for Fall 2005 classes in Sessions A002 and N002.

August 24 (Wed) - VIP closes at 6:00pm.; Final cancellation of schedules for non-payment of fees at 6:00pm.

September 2 (Fri) - Last day to apply for December 2005 graduation.  Last day to submit Rising Junior Proficiency Portfolio in Writing for Fall 2005.

September 5 (Mon) - Labor Day--no classes. The University will be closed.

October 6 (Thu) - Mid-point in semester.

October 12 (Wed) - Last day to withdraw or drop without receiving a "WF" for Fall 2005 classes in Sessions A002 and N002.  Last day to elect/revoke the pass/fail option for Fall 2005 classes in Sessions A002 and N002.

October 13 - 14 (Thu - Fri) - Fall Break--no classes.

November 7 - 11 (Mon - Fri) - Priority Registration for Spring 2006 for currently enrolled students.

December 2 (Fri) - UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE CLASSES END.

December 5 - 6 (Mon - Tue) - Reading days.

December 7 - 13 (Wed - Tue) - Final exams.

December 15 (Thu) - Convocation at 7:00 p.m. in the SAC Gym.


Spring Semester 2006

Academic Calendar

October 31 (Mon) - Advisement for Spring 2006 begins for currently enrolled students.

November 7 - 11 (Mon - Fri) - Priority Registration for Spring 2006 for currently enrolled students.

November 11 (Fri) - Last day for Priority Registration for Spring 2006 for currently enrolled students.

January 6 (Fri) - VIP re-opens at 9 a.m.  New students, re-admit students, transfer students, and transient students registration and bill processing 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. continuously in the Penland Administration Building.

Continuing students who did not participate in Priority Registration may register on this date.

January 6 (Fri) - VIP closes at 5 p.m.  2nd cancellation of schedules for non-payment of fees at 5 p.m.

January 9 (Mon) - UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE CLASSES BEGIN.  VIP re-opens at 9 a.m.

March 5 - 12 (Sun - Sun)  - Spring Break -- no classes.

April 13 ( Thu) - Annual Academic Convocation.

April 25 - 26 (Tue - Wed) - Reading days.

April 27 - May 3 (Thu - Wed) - Final exams.

May 4 (Thu) - Commencement at 7:00 p.m. in the SAC Gym.


Maymester 2006 

Academic Calendar

May 5 (Fri) - Registration - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  

Note:  VIP will not be available on May 5th.  Students registering for Maymester classes on May 5th will need to bring their advisement form to the Records Office in Room 109 of the Penland Administration Building to have their registration processed.

May 8 (Mon) - CLASSES BEGIN.

May 8 (Mon) - Last day to drop a course or withdraw without any record for Maymester 2006 classes in Session A003Last day to elect/revoke audit option for Maymester 2006 classes in Session A003.

May 15 (Mon) - Last day to drop a course or withdraw without receiving a "WF" for Maymester 2006 classes in Session A003.  Last day to elect/revoke pass/fail option for Maymester 2006 classes in Session A003.

Note:  VIP will not be available during Maymester for any type of registration activity.  Students will need to process all schedule adjustments in the Records Office in Room 109 of the Penland Administration Building.

May 23 (Tue)  - CLASSES END.

May 24 (Wed) - Final exams.


Summer I 2006

During the Summer I 2006 semester, classes will meet Monday - Thursday.

May 29 (Mon) - Memorial Day - The University will be open.

May 30 (Tue) - CLASSES BEGIN.

May 31 (Wed) - Last day to drop a course or withdraw without any record for Summer I 2006 classes in Session A002Last day to elect/revoke audit option for Summer I 2006 classes in Session A002.

June 2 (Fri) - Last day to apply for August graduation.  Last day to submit Rising Junior Proficiency Portfolio in Writing for Summer 2006.

June 13 (Tue) - Last day to drop a course or withdraw without receiving a "WF" for Summer I 2006 classes in Session A002.  Last day to elect/revoke pass/fail option for Summer I 2006 classes in Session A002.

June 28 (Wed) - CLASSES END.

June 29 - 30 (Thu-Fri) - Final exams.


Summer II 2006

During the Summer II 2006 semester, classes will meet Monday - Thursday.
