Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) is a marketing
tool to help businesses sell to all areas (local, state,
and federal) of government. PTAP services include counseling,
government agency matching, contract development, and computer
matching services.

BUSINESS LICENSE
If your business is located in the cities of Aiken or North
Augusta or you do business regularly in those cities, you
will need a city business license.

SALES TAX NUMBER
If you buy products for resale you will need a retail
sales license. The form to apply for
that number is SCTC-III, South Carolina
Tax Commission Business Tax application
and can be requested from:

INCORPORATION
To incorporate in South Carolina, a charter is filed with
the
Secretary of State's Office in Columbia. See your attorney.
FEDERAL EMPLOYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (Federal EIN)
A sole proprietor with no employees and with no other reporting
needs would not request a Federal EIN. The SS-4 is the form to use
for requesting the number and has information on which businesses
need a Federal EIN. This form may be requested by calling the IRS
in Atlanta at 1-800-TAX FORM. For questions concerning federal
