Consultec, Inc., Atlanta, GA and Santa Fe, NM            July 1994 - August 1997

Business Support Analyst (4/95 to 8/97)

New Mexico Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Fiscal Agent Contract

Responsible as the primary contact for several functional areas of the New Mexico Human Services Department Medical Assistance Division (MAD) business offices.  Provide technical assistance to and functioned as liaison between the State MAD office and the Consultec systems support staff in Atlanta.  Produced ad hoc reports and provide assistance with research activities for the State areas supported.  Participated in requirements analysis for new system development efforts using SEER HPS structured development methodology.  Responsible for training and assistance to State personnel in the use of FOCUS EIS and other PC based products.  Participated in the development of an Executive Information System using FOCUS for Windows, FOCUS EIS, and Sybase.  Responsible for the technical support of financial processing for the business areas of both the New Mexico Consultec staff and the State MAD staff.

 

Systems Consultant (7/94 - 4/95)

West Virginia Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Fiscal Agent Contract

Responsible for analysis, design, and development of system changes and enhancements to the MMIS - a COBOL/VSAM based system consisting 1000 programs, 250 online/750 batch.  This system performed the processing of 1.1 million claims monthly for over 800,000 recipients.  This system involved all areas of Medicaid activities and programs.  Responsible for the conversion to and implementation of a new Pharmacy point-of-service subsystem.

 

Confederation Life Insurance Co., Atlanta, GA         February 1991 - July 1994

Programmer/Analyst

Responsible for analysis, design, and development of several group insurance related systems.  Used STRADIS structured methodology for application development.  System support included major and minor enhancements, system maintenance, and developing new screens and reports utilizing COBOL, COBOL II, IMS, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.  Applications developed or supported include:

·                     GRADS (Group Administration System) - a COBOL/IMS based system consisting of 500 programs, 250 on-line/250 batch, and 4000 policies.

·                     GEARS (Group Experience Analysis System) - a COBOL/IMS/VSAM based subsystem consisting of 40 programs.

·                     LCS (Life Claims System) - a COBOL/VSAM based system consisting of 40 programs.

These systems involve a wide variety of group insurance business functions including policy administration, agency functions, and accounting.  Also participated in the analysis and design phase for a LAN based marketing and sales reporting system.            Other systems supported included Long Term Disability administration, Flexible Benefits Administration, and Bank Reconciliation

 

ACE Mailing Services, Inc., Smyrna, GA                  January 1990 - February 1991

Production Programmer Analyst

Responsible for detailed analysis and programming of projects to create mailing labels and letters for customers.  This project was managed from inception through production and involved operations support, data validity checking, data conversion, file management, and quality control.  Performed programming functions on an IBM 4381 with VSE/SP utilizing COBOL, RPG II, Assembler, and JCL.  Interacted with sales personnel and Customer Support Representatives to define project requirements and procedures.
