Senior Instructor Kathleen W. Wates
Meet Senior Instructor Kathleen (Kitty) Wates. She received her undergraduate degree from USCA and a Master of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina in 1991. Her professional certifications include Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant. Before joining our faculty she had extensive experience working with small business in the areas of accounting, tax, and financial management, and she continues to serve as a consultant in these areas. She uses her experience to integrate classroom knowledge and the business world for students. She was the recipient of the USCA Teaching Excellence Award for 1993-1994! Her current areas of specialization are financial accounting and income tax for individuals and corporations. Professor Wates has several hobbies she enjoys. She is an avid golfer, enjoys snow skiing, and loves to garden in her backyard park.
