Dr.
Sanela Porca
Dr. Sanela Porča is an Associate Professor of Economics
with the School of Business Administration, University of South Carolina Aiken.
She received her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Tennessee and the
Master of Arts in Economics from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. She holds the
Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Denison University,
Granville, Ohio.
At the University of South Carolina Aiken, Dr. Porča teaches economics,
international business, and public finance courses. Her other responsibilities
include directing, designing, and executing the School of Business Study Abroad
Program in Austria and Czech Republic, as well as advising undergraduate
students. She is the founder and the faculty advisor for the USCA Equestrian
Club.
For her teaching achievements Dr. Porča has been awarded
1. the Governor’s Distinguished Teacher Award (South Carolina, 2006)
2. the University of South Carolina Aiken Teaching Excellence Award and
3. Who’s Who among America’s Teachers Award, 2006/2007
Dr. Porča has participated in numerous applied research projects. Her
publications include over forty journal articles, book chapters, news items, and
proceedings. Dr. Porča has a variety of research interests in economics and
international business. Her main interest is regional growth and development and
the effects the tax structure has on the local industrial structure.
Dr. Porča is a very active within her profession and frequently serves as a
judge, manuscript reviewer, and a discussant at different international,
national, and regional conferences.
