Palmetto Golf Course

Aiken, South Carolina has a rich history that dates back to the city’s founding in 1835.  Aiken flourished throughout the late19th and 20th centuries as a winter colony for affluent northerners who brought with them their love of horses and golf.   Aiken has become one of the premier horse training communities within America, and is home to one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious golf courses, the Palmetto Golf Course.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cedar Creek Golf CourseThere are eight golf courses located within a ten minute drive of the USC Aiken campus. These include the Aiken Golf Club, opened for play in 1912, Cedar Creek Golf , site of the 1998 NCAA Division II golf championship and Palmetto Golf Course, sixth oldest golf course in the nation. Students in the Golf Course Services program have playing privileges at several of these courses.
