Internships Students in the Golf Course Services concentration are required to complete two internship courses. They receive six hours academic credit for these courses which are taken in the senior year of course work. Students generally work with a golf professional at one of the eight golf courses in the Aiken area or at a golf course in their home town if they prefer to do the internship during the summer. The goal of the internship courses is to provide the student with a “hands on” experience at a golf facility. Internships can be performed in the pro shop, in the food and beverage area of a golf club or in course maintenance. The choice is left up to the student, based on their interest in the golf industry. An additional benefit of the internship is the student has playing privileges at the golf course where they intern.
