Dr. Michael Ritchie received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, and MBA from Augusta State University, and an undergraduate degree from Clemson University. He has a graduate degree in banking from the Graduate School of Banking of the South, Louisiana State University. He is currently an associate professor of management at the University of South Carolina Aiken.
Dr. Ritchie enjoyed an eleven-year tenure with the Citizens and Southern National Bank, finishing his career there as a Vice President in the corporate lending office.
Dr. Ritchie has published and presented papers in the area of work force diversity, organizational culture, mergers and acquisitions, and negotiations, among others. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several academic journals as well as proceedings editor for the Southeast Case Research Association. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society of Collegiate Schools of Business. Dr. Ritchie has conducted research and consulted in various industries and is a principal of Moore & Ritchie Strategy Group, a training and development firm. He lectures and speaks to a number of civic and community groups and numerous academic groups.
Dr. Ritchie has received university-teaching awards and is a member of the University Faculty Senate. He is active in student groups and has served as a faculty for student international studies abroad. He is a member of the American Management Association. the Southern Management Association, and the Southeast Case Research Association.
