Kenny Thomas Baseball Camp

Ages: 5 - 15

Kenny Thomas Baseball camps are geared to all levels of youth players ages 5 to 15. Instructional groups are arranged by age. The camp is held at Citizens Park in Aiken. Citizens Park has five baseball fields available for this camp, allowing each age group to have its own field. The shaded picnic area is a great place for lunch and break times.

Participants will learn fundamentals, as well as improve skills such as pitching, fielding, hitting, throwing, and base running. In addition, they will have the opportunity to meet and work with USCA baseball coaches.

Mark Vanderslice Men’s Basketball Camp

Camp Invention (STEM)

Camp Invention is one week in the summer where your child’s creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills are challenged and developed in fun and exciting ways. Our top priority is to inspire future innovators and build their confidence in the natural ability to dream and create. Camp Invention is held at the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center.

Minecraft ® Designers

June 19 - 23
Ages: 8 -14

If you love the game Minecraft, and always wanted to design your own world, this class is for you! Learn how to create a custom map, the basics of creating 3D models using a new software to design your very own objects, how to build with Redstone and Command blocks, and create custom textures for you to import at home or share with friends. To access their project at home students, must own a PC/MAC version of Minecraft. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Parent email address is required to use 3D modeling software. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Make Your First Video Game!

June 26 - 23

Ages: 8 - 14

If you love playing video games, this is the camp for you! Make your first video game in this one-of-a-kind class that shows you the keys to designing your first 2D platformer game. Conceptualization, play experience, level design, graphics, sounds, and simple coding are just some of the concepts that we’ll explore. No prior experience necessary, just a desire to have fun. Student created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Games are only compatible on PC computers, Mac versions can be created after the program for small conversion fee. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Ike Ofoje Pacer Soccer School

June 26 - 30

The USC Aiken Soccer School is a weeklong coed camp. We provide high quality soccer instruction in a safe, fun and socially sound environment. Each day begins and ends with assemblies to address and emphasize the character-building aspects of sport such as attitude, leadership, teamwork, discipline, responsibility, self-esteem, social skills, citizenship and competitive spirit. The main focus of the camp is to improve individual technical skills with a view to enhancing overall tactical team play.

Early drop off is available Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. for all campers and late pick up is available Monday-Thursday until 6 p.m. for full day campers. Please note that all sessions of camp end at NOON on Friday

USC Aiken Baseball Showcase Camp

The University of South Carolina Aiken is a premiere Division 2 baseball program that competes in the Peach Belt Conference. With over 20 players drafted in the past 6 years, the USCA baseball program is home to some of the best athletes college baseball has to offer. This camp is designed for fun and exploration of a number of different sports including basketball, soccer, golf, tennis and a variety of other activities that include swimming, ping-pong, relays and much more during five action-packed days of camp. Campers are divided into age groups but have the option of being put into groups with their friends.

Minecraft ® Modders

Camp ENGage is all about empowering the next generation of engineers. This camp will be an immersion into engineering and design-based thinking for rising 7th-8th graders from the CSRA. More than a science camp, more than summer fun, Camp ENGage will give students unprecedented access to educators and engineering professionals. They will be ENGaged in hands-on projects that will encourage further study in engineering. Each day includes an exciting and diverse schedule of Discovery Workshops, learning lab activities, design projects and field trips to local companies/project sites.

Take the first steps into the world of mobile app design and customize your own game app! Using a specialized app & game development tool, students will explore the world of web-based (HTML5) mobile apps. In addition to learning the basics of mobile app design and game development, you will also see firsthand how the world of App publishing functions. Student-created apps will be accessible on a private site and played on any mobile device or computer. Publishing to App Stores not included. No prior experience is necessary and students do not need to own a smartphone or tablet to take the class. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Hilary George Soccer Camp

This camp is for players who are interested in trying to play for the University of South Carolina Aiken's Womens Soccer program, as it directly introduces and exposes players to a college level practice and game environment. USC Aiken coaching staff trains players. The format provides the coaches the opportunity to work up close with the players to assess their training habits and performance in games.
