Basically, computer animation is actually fairly similar to traditional animation, only the animator uses a computer to draw instead of a pencil.

Animation is all the rage on the web and is becoming more popular every day. But before you begin to create animations, you need to consider some basic questions, such as: What is its purpose? What kind of audience do you want to attract? What are you trying to say? After you have considered these steps you must move onto other considerations, which include file formats and size, along with design and execution. This tutorial is designed to introduce you to animation and the information needed to answer the above consideration.

We will look at the history of multimedia animation. We will study the basics of computer animation. Then we will compare the two main types of digital graphic files. Finally we will learn some simple animation steps using two softwares, Adobe© PhotoShop/Image Ready and Macromedia© Flash.

Are you ready to begin?
