Canticum Novum
Canticum Novum is an auditioned ensemble specializing in the performance of early music as well as contemporary literature appropriate for the small ensemble. This is the primary ensemble for performances within the community of Aiken and the surrounding area. Students in Canticum Novum also maintain membership in the University Concert Choir.
This ensemble currently meets twice weekly – Tuesday and Thursday from 1:40 – 2:55 in the Etherredge Center Room 125.
University Concert Choir
The University Concert Choir is a non-auditioned, open ensemble to the student body of USCA. Concert Choir performs a wide range of music from the Renaissance to contemporary arrangements of spirituals and folksongs. In addition, Concert Choir frequently joins the Masterworks Chorale for performances with orchestra.
Currently, Concert Choir meets three days a week in the Etherredge Center Room 125 – Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:15, and Friday from 1:00 – 1:50.
Masterworks Chorale
Masterworks Chorale is an open, community-based ensemble for the CSRA. Masterworks performs a yearly concert series, which includes Nine Lessons and Carols, a Valentine’s program, and a large choral work with orchestra.
Masterworks Chorale meets once per week on Monday evenings from 7:00 – 9:30 in the Etherredge Center Room 125.
University Band
Rehearsal and performance of traditional and contemporary concert band repertoire. The University Band presents two formal concerts per year as well as performances at Hopeland Gardens, and the Aiken Steeple Chase.
Pep Band
Rehearsal and performance of contemporary and popular band repertoire, with participation and performance for athletic events and civic functions.
Jazz Ensemble
The jazz ensemble allows students to apply aural and theoretical skills in selected jazz repertoire.
Chamber Ensembles
Students may participate in a variety of chamber ensembles such as string quartet, and brass and woodwind quintet.
