Chet Longley is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and serves as the Scenic/Lighting Designer and Technical Director for the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at USC Aiken.
Chet’s scenic and lighting designs have appeared on stage at USC Aiken, Trustus Theatre, Wofford College, The Village Square Theatre and Highlands Playhouse. Last year he was honored to receive a faculty award for meritorious achievement in scenic and lighting design from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for the USC Aiken production of Fuddy Meers.
As a Technical Director and theatre artisan, Chet has served on the technical staffs of Flat Rock Playhouse, Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Olney Playhouse, and Cumberland County Playhouse.
Chet holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Appalachian State University and an M.F.A in Scenic and Lighting Design from the University of Arkansas and is an active member of the Southeastern Theatre Conference (where he serves as Chairman of the College & University Division), the United States Institute for Theater Technology and the South Carolina Theatre Association.
