Richard (Dick) Maltz (b. 1958) was raised in Randolph, Massachusetts. He earned the Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Education degrees from the University of North Texas, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of South Carolina.
Dick studied composition with Gordon (Dick) Goodwin, Robert Ward and Ben Johnston, and has lived in South Carolina since 1989.
Associate Professor of Music at the University of South Carolina Aiken, Dick teaches music theory/composition and percussion. Dick is also Conductor and Music Director of the Aiken Regional Chamber Orchestra in Aiken, South Carolina.
