Student Recitals
Students are given the opportunity to demonstrate technical proficiency and knowledge of diverse repertoire through performance on student recitals. Recital performances are part of the music concentration requirement.
Faculty Artist Recitals
Music faculty present recitals regularly throughout the academic year. Students are given the opportunity to hear performance by a variety of professional instrumentalists and vocalists.
Cleon W. Mauldin Lecture/Recital Series
Recognized musicians from outside the university community present workshops, lectures, and recitals for students and community members. Students are given insight into the creative processes of professional artists in their fields of expertise.
Augusta Symphony Orchestra:
The Aiken Symphony Guild presents a series of three concerts each year by the Augusta Symphony Orchestra in the USC Aiken Etherredge. Two concerts present traditional classical music and the third is a holiday pops concert.
Feast of Carols
Each Christmas, the university campus and community enjoy the madrigal dinner presented by the University Concert Choir, Instrumental ensembles, and University Theatre Players. The event includes a renaissance feast complete with a boar's head, wassail, and an assortment of madrigals.
Hopeland Gardens
Each Monday during the summer season, concerts are presented at Aiken's scenic Hopeland Gardens. Programs include concerts presented by the University Band, the Masterworks Chorale, and the Etherredge center A Cappella Choir. Concerts are attended by lovers of music and nature.
