Defense:  Rover Ball Control

Objectives:
To practice playing the Rover position.

  1. Player tosses ball to the setter.
  2. Setter sets either hitter (or tips the ball over to the middle of the court).
  3. Hitter approaches and hits an aggressive roll shot to the middle third of the back court.
  4. Rover releases when the ball is sent over the net.
  5. Rover passes the ball to the setter.
  6. Repeat on both sides of the net until a set number of contacts is made.

Variation:
Allow hitters to play a back row defensive position.
