Objectives: To practice defense under pressure with high repetitions.
Put two defenders on the court, one on each side of the net. Coaches hit balls to their respective defenders. Defenders try and dig ball to the target. After each hit defender must touch cone and return to defensive position. When one of the two defenders digs 2 balls to the target the both players must switch sides. Repeat until one play gets 10 digs to the target.
Variations:
Defenders can only dig balls with the overhead pass. Put defender's cones in different locations on the court, the farther from the defender the more difficult the drill. Dig from different defensive positions, left back, middle back and right back.
