Objectives:
Practice setting outside hitter and covering.
Coach tosses a ball off the net for the setter.
Setter moves off the net and sets outside to target.
Setter moves in to cover.
Coach tosses a ball from behind setter into the net.
Setter must pass the ball out of the net up into the air.
Setter returns to setting position.
Repeat for a set number of good plays out of the net.
Variation:
Use a hitter instead of a target, the hitter approaches and tips the ball to the setter (on the same side of the net).
