Objectives: Practice lateral passing (outside the body).
Coach gives down ball to players ( ball should get to players about shoulder height ). Player executes a lateral pass, arms extended to the left or right side of the body depending on the line they are in. Player switches lines. Repeat for a desired goal of good passes.
Players must execute a lateral pass or they do not get credit for the pass. Have the players concentrate on moving their feet to keep their body in position to execuate a lateral pass.
Variations:
Vary the down balls, give topspin down balls and floater down balls. Switch the lateral lines, so the left laterals are done on the right side of the court.
