Ball Control: Half - Court Competition

Objectives:
Warm - players up with contacts

  1. Divide players into halves, which each half of the court is a team, and then into groups of two.
  2. There should be two teams on each half of the court.  With atleast four groups of two per team. (Each team will play within their half of the court)
  3. Initiate the drill with a serve or a free ball.
  4. Groups of two must pass, set and control hit the ball over the net to another group of two.
  5. After the ball crosses the net the group of two must rotate off the court and be replaced by another group of two.
  6. Each time the ball crosses the net after three contacts the team scores a point.
  7. Play to a certain number of points.
  8. Coaches stress ball control, the fewer stoppages the quicker the teams will score points.

Variations:
  1. Allow back row attacks only.
  2. Play diagonal courts so the teams are crossing each  other.
