Hitting: Approach Around

Objectives:
To practice approaching around players on the court.

  1. Server serves a ball to one of the passers or hitter.
  2. Player receiving serve passes the ball to the setter,
  3. If P1 passes the ball the hitter approaches around the passer and hits a second tempo ball in the middle.
  4. If P2 passes the ball the hitter approaches around the passer and hits a high outside set.
  5. If Hitter passes the ball the Hitter approaches between the Passers and hits a second tempo set.
  6. Setter sets the ball to the hitter that calls for the appropriate set.

Variations:
  1. Add a blocker that follows the hitter.
  2. Have the passers approach for 1st tempo sets.
