Phyllis E. Johnson-Porter, a native of Augusta, Georgia, received certification in Disciplined-Based Music Education from Armstrong-Atlantic University in Savannah, Georgia, and holds all three levels of certification in Orff Schulwerk from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Porter has 25 years of public school teaching experience and has served as general and choral music specialist in Cincinnati, Ohio; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Jackson, Mississippi; and Atlanta, Georgia where she also directed the Atlanta Public Schools Honor Chorus. Dr. Porter teaches general and choral music at Jenkins-White Elementary Charter School, Augusta, Georgia, and is married to Rev. Dr. Donald Porter.
