Dr. Stanley Rich received his Ph.D. in English from the University of Alabama and has been teaching at USC Aiken since 1979. He regularly teaches composition courses and survey of British Literature.
His specialty field is linguistics which includes USCA courses in English Grammar, Development of the English Language, Introduction to Human Language, and Topics in Linguistics. Other courses include Classical Mythology, Chaucer, and Introduction to Peace Studies.
In 1993-94, he held a Fulbight Teaching Award at Adam Mickiewitz University in Poznan, Poland. Later, he taught summer courses at Vytautas Magnus University, Kanunas, Lithuania, and at Tula State University, Tula, Russia. He has published numerous articles in the fields of linguistics, composition pedagogy, and social justice.
