Dr. Julie Wise earned her PhD and her MA from Indiana University, where she focused on Victorian studies, and her BA from the University of Michigan. Before arriving at USCA, she had taught at USC Columbia and Allen University.
Dr. Wise’s research and teaching interests focus on Victorian poetry, poetics, aesthetics, gender, and culture. She has published several articles on Victorian women’s poetry, and is currently developing a book project on late-Victorian women’s poetry. At USCA, she regularly teaches courses on Romantic literature, Victorian literature, and the British Literature II survey, along with composition courses.
