Academy of Life Long Learning Program Endowment
This Award may be used for program enhancements including but not limited to the following: student and faculty travel, equipment, supplies, student assistantships, scholarships, technology and library support.

 

Aiken AMBUCS Endowed Scholarship
Selection criteria:
The scholarship shall be awarded to an Exercise Science major with a desire to work with the physically handicapped.

  • Exercise Science major
  • Entering student with 1000 SAT or greater (or equivalent entrance exam score) or continuing student with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study
  • Preference is given to candidates nominated by the AMBUCS to the HAS Committee provided that nominees satisfy the eligibility criteria

 

Aiken County Medical Society Scholarship
Selection criteria:

  • Recommendations must come from the School of Nursing Faculty
  • Degree-seeking student(s) majoring in nursing at USC Aiken in the BSN program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Preference given to those who have a stated career goal to remain in the Aiken County and seek employment with Aiken medical service providers after graduation

 

Aiken Jaycees Endowed Scholarship
Selection criteria:
This scholarship will benefit a worthy and academically talented student at USC Aiken (or incoming freshman from Aiken County) who has the appropriate academic average and SAT score.

  • Preference may be given to a student-athlete, however, academic record and financial need as established by the USC Aiken Scholarship Committee shall be adhered to. If a qualified athletic recipient is not available then Aiken County Academic criteria will be the priority determinant.
  • The person selected will manifest the ideals as set forth by the Jaycees organization.
  • Must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study

 

Aiken Partnership Endowment
Selection criteria:

  • Student with demonstrated financial need
  • Minimum predicted or actual 2.75-grade point average
  • The scholarship may be renewable if the student continues to meet the above criteria

 

Aiken Standard Journalism Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship shall be a student or students majoring in journalism whose area of concentration is the news/editorial sequence and will be selected by the USC Aiken Journalism faculty to be interviewed and possibly selected by The Aiken Standard for a summer internship.

  • Preference will be given to a rising senior. The recipients of The Aiken Standard will be mutually agreed upon by the USC Aiken journalism faculty and The Aiken Standard.
  • Must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study.

 

Aiken Woman's Club Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • First priority will be given to a full or part-time non-traditional female USC Aiken student with at least a 3.0 GPA or 1000 SAT entrance score
  • A second scholarship may be offered to another full or part-time non-traditional female student at USC Aiken that meets the above criteria if the income allows

 

Pauline F. and Joseph C. Alexander Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship was established by Dr. Robert E. Alexander, Distinguished Chancellor Emeritus, in honor of his father and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander had a love of learning and taught their family to value education. Upon Mrs. Alexander's death in  October 1995, the Alexander family established this scholarship fund to serve as a memorial to both Mr. and Mrs. Alexander, reflecting their values and commitment to education for young people.
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on a combination of academic indicators; the high school grade point average computed on college prep courses, SAT or ACT scores and high school rank.
 

Robert and Leslie Alexander Program Endowment
Established by Dr. and Mrs. Robert E. Alexander, Distinguished Chancellor Emeritus, in 2000. This program endowment was established to provide funds to enhance programs, scholarships and learning at the USC Aiken. 
This award may be used for program endowments including, but not limited to the following: student and faculty travel, equipment, supplies, student assistantships and scholarships. Requests for these awards will be reviewed and approved by the Executive Committee of the Aiken Partnership.  
 

Robert and Vicki Allen Endowed Scholarship Fund
Selection criteria:

  • Military veteran
  • Preference is given to recipient(s) with demonstrated financial need
  • The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to demonstrate financial need
  • Must enroll full-time in a course of study

 
Rodney and Michael Allen Sociology Scholarship Fund
 

Alumni Endowed Legacy Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • The recipient shall be a full-time, degree-seeking student whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) holds a degree from a USC Aiken program and who is an active member of the USC Aiken Alumni Association.
  • Preference be given to freshmen applicants with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a first-come, first-serve basis. Continuing students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible.
  • Recommendations shall be made by the Director of Alumni Relations.


Dean Alverson Endowed Fellowship in Graduate Studies in the Psychology Department Fund
The fellowship will be awarded by the Psychology Department to a rising second-year Master of Science in Psychology student who has demonstrated outstanding performance and potential for clinical and research activity. This fellowship is not renewable.
 

Marion and Virginia Duiker Program Endowment
 

American Association of University Women-Aiken Branch Endowed Scholarship
Selection criteria:

  • selected student or students who are or will be attending USC Aiken
  • Aiken County resident
  • predicted or actual GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  • full-time and part-time students are eligible to be considered for the scholarship(s).
  • preference is given to students that are transferring from Aiken Technical College to USC Aiken
  • student must have demonstrated financial need. If the student continues to meet the criteria the scholarship may be renewable

 

Jeannine S. Angerman Memorial Biology Scholarship Endowment

Jeannine S. Angerman was a widely-respected authority in botany and ornithology. She founded the Aiken-Augusta Chapter of the National Audobon Society. Determined to expand her knowledge of botany, Ms. Angerman enrolled in classes at USC Aiken. This endowment was established by her family upon her death in 1989.

Selection criteria:

  • recipient must be enrolled full-time at USC Aiken
  • Biology major with a demonstrated in botany or ornithology
  • student will be at least a junior and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA

 

Professor David J. Anna Endowed Nursing Scholarship Fund

Selection criteria:

  • recipient must be enrolled full-time at USC Aiken
  • recipient must be a Nursing major and currently at the Level V to Level VII in the USC Aiken Nursing program
  • recipent must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA 
  • recipient must be from an underrepresented population in nursing
  • recipient must demonstrate leadership potential in clinical settings and extracurricular activities 

 

Joan Warrick Arrington Memorial Scholarship

Randy Warrick established this endowment in honor of his mother, Joan Warrick Arrington (1930-1994). The scholarship provides funds to the USC Aiken Athletic Department. The recipient of the scholarship is expected to have the same qualities of its namesake. She was an honest, hardworking and caring person. She instilled in her sons the ideals of fair-play, following the rules and always giving your best.

Selection criteria:

  • preference will be given to an athlete from an underrepresented population in Pacer Athletics
  • entering freshman must have a predicted GPA of 3.0; Continuing students must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA.


Asian American Scholarship Endowment

This endowment will be awarded to a worthy degree-seeking student enrolled at least part-time in the School of Business Administration.

  • preference to students with demonstrated financial need

 

Robert M. Bell Bicentennial Scholarship

The scholarship was established by the Gregg-Graniteville Foundation in honor of Mr. Robert M. Bell. Mr. Bell was also a contributor to this fund.

Selection criteria:

  • full-time, degree-seeking students
  • Aiken County resident
  • an entering freshman student must have a University predicted GPA of 2.50 or better; a sophomore, junior or senior must have an actual 2.50 GPA or better
  • preference for this award is given to active members of the St. John United Methodist Church, Graniteville, South Carolina. If an active member of the St. John United Methodist Church does not apply for the scholarship or does not meet the GPA minimum, preference shall then be given to a resident of Graniteville, South Carolina who meets the requirements.

 

Alan F. Benton Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Selection criteria:

  • scholarship is restricted to major or area of study: Education, Exercise Science, BSN Nursing or Pre-Med.
  • if awarded to an entering student, the student must have at least a 1000 SAT or equivalent score on a nationally recognized test utilized in the admission decision
  • a continuing student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 if awarded.
  • scholarship is restricted to Aiken County Public High School graduates pursuing four-year degrees
  • If two or more persons satisfy the minimum requirements, preference shall be given to the applicant with the greatest financial need. As long as funds exceed $1,500 the selection committee may award more than one scholarship, with the stipulation that the minimum award must be at least $500.
  • the Aiken Partnership of the Foundation or its appointee(s) shall have authority to select the annual recipient based upon the above criteria.

 

Janie Hightower Key Book Scholarship Endowment

Selection criteria:

  • student whose heritage is underrepresented at USC Aiken
  • preference to Math/Computer Science major
  • must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study

 

Alexander R. Boulogne Memorial Chemistry Scholarship

The scholarship recipient must:

  • be a rising junior at USC Aiken
  • chemistry major
  • maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • receive a nomination from the USC Aiken Chemistry Faculty

 

Walter J. Bradley Memorial Scholarship

The Walter J. Bradley Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Bradley, by his family in 2002.

Selection criteria:

  • preference will be given to a student(s) with demonstrated financial need
  • recipient must be majoring in Exercise and Sports Science
  • the student must be a sophomore, junior or senior in order to be considered for this scholarship

 

John and Marlene Brantley Fund
 

Wade and Sylvia Brodie Endowed Scholarship

Mr. and Mrs. Brodie wanted to give a gift to USC Aiken because they have "enjoyed seeing it grow. It is a major asset to the city and area." They created the Wade and Sylvia Brodie Endowed Scholarship Fund as a way to assist USC Aiken students both now and forever.

Selection criteria:

  • preference shall be given to full-time, undergraduate students in good standing.
  • business majors
  • student(s) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.9 or greater
  • scholarship(s) may be renewable provided that student maintains a GPA of 2.9 or greater


Wayne P. Brousseau Memorial Tennis Scholarship

The Wayne P. Brousseau Memorial Tennis Scholarship was established by Randy Warrick, former USC Aiken Athletic Director and other donors to create a scholarship fund in memory of Mr. Brousseau.

Selection criteria:

  • based upon recommendations from the Director of Athletics
  • the scholarship shall be awarded to a member of the USC Aiken Men's Tennis team
  • student should be a rising sophomore, junior or senior with a cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • If two or more students satisfy the minimum requirements, preference shall be given to the applicant with the greatest financial need.

 

Lewis E. and Marguerite T. Brown Scholarship

Endowed by Mr. and Mrs. Brown in 1984 in partnership with Hutson-Etherredge-Brown-Ashhurst Insurance Company,  the scholarship was created to help fund the education of students with physical disabilities or limitations. Mrs. Brown had a special interest in the needs of the physically handicapped because she herself suffered from multiple sclerosis for many years.

Selection criteria:

  • student has a clearly stated career objective to work with the physically disabled*
  • recipient is a minority or a non-traditional student
  • recipient has demonstrated need

*The recipient may be in a discipline such as special education and planning to work with the physically disabled; the recipient may be in an allied health field planning to become a physical therapist, or the recipient may be in a nursing program with the intent to work with the physically disabled, however, the selection committee is not limited to these academic areas but rather with the intent of this guideline.

Selection criteria:

  • preference shall be given to Aiken County residents or the state of South Carolina
  • the student(s) must be full-time at the Junior or Senior level
  • students must have demonstrated financial need
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater. The scholarship may be renewable subject to the student maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.

 

Alexander Charles Bush English Endowed Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • restricted to English majors
  • rising junior or senior
  • Active campus citizen
  • renewable as long as the recipient maintains a 3.0 or higher GPA and is an undergraduate student at USC Aiken

Selection criteria:

  • full-time student at USC Aiken and physical science major
  • requires faculty recommendation

 

Harrie E. and Madeline H. Carpenter Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • preference shall be given to full-time, undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need from the state of South Carolina
  • Business Administration or Nursing major
  • freshman candidates must have an entering SAT score of 1050 or its equivalent
  • scholarship will be equally awarded for full tuition support when endowment reaches that level of funding
  • if the student maintains a cumulative 2.75 GPR the scholarship may provide support for up to eight semesters

 

Jessica Lynne Carpenter Memorial Scholarship

The Jessica Lynne Carpenter Memorial Scholarship was established in her by her family in 2000.

Selection criteria:

  • recipient must be a full-time student who graduated from Aiken High School
  • entering freshman must have a University predicted GPA of 2.75. A sophomore, junior or senior must have an actual 2.75 GPA or better
  • consideration may be given to the demonstrated financial need of the student

 

Doc Carr Men’s Basketball Endowed Scholarship Fund

Selection criteria:

  • available to a potential member of the USCA Men’s Basketball Program.
  • scholarship is renewable.

 
William C. Casper Memorial Scholarship

The William C. Casper Memorial Scholarship was established in 2007 by the Aiken Partnership Board in memory of William C. Casper, USC Aiken's first Chancellor.

Selection criteria:

  • recipient must be a full-time, degree-seeking student
  • recipient must have demonstrated financial need
  • minimum predicted or actual 2.75 GPA
  • scholarship is renewable if the student continues to meet selection criteria

Samuel A. Cothran Journalism Scholarship

The Samuel A. Cothran Journalism Scholarship was established by The Aiken Standard in 1990 in honor of Sam Cothran, publisher of The Aiken Standard for more than 20 years.

Selection criteria:

  • a junior at USC Aiken with a career objective to work in print journalism which includes all aspects of the newspaper industry
  • minimum 2.5 GPA; however, upon the recommendation of the University Journalism faculty the student may have a GPA as low as 2.0
  • requires recommendation by the donor with the assistance of the University Journalism faculty

 

Ben Cox Music Program

Selection criteria:

  • full-time, degree-seeking student
  • major in classical music preferably one who intend to perform
  • scholarship funds may be used for study-abroad opportunities and instruction from any faculty member within the USC System
  • requires recommendation from the Chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department in consultation with the music faculty who work most closely with piano students

 

Todd and Bea Crawford Scholarship

The Todd and Bea Crawford Scholarship was established by Dr. and Mrs. Todd V. Crawford in 2000.

Selection criteria:

  • preference shall be given to a first generation student with demonstrated need
  • the student must be a graduate of Aiken County School District High Schools
  • must be enrolled full-time at USC Aiken
  • If awarded to an incoming freshman, the student must have a University predicted GPA of 2.0 or better. The award may be renewable if the recipient maintains a 2.5 or better.
  • If a continuing student is awarded the scholarship, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
  • scholarship may be renewable if the recipient maintains a 2.5 or better

  • if awarded to an entering student, the student must have at least a 1000 SAT or equivalent score on a nationally recognized test utilized in the admission decision
  • if awarded to a continuing student, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • in the event that there are no qualified applicants for the scholarship, the income will be returned to the principal account

The Mabel Brodie Eisenhart Scholarship fund was created from her estate by her nephew and his wife, Wade and Sissy Brodie. This endowed scholarship created a visible way for the family to remember Mabel.

  • must meet the criteria to be designated as a Chancellor's Scholar
  • special consideration will be given to awarding at least one scholarship to a freshman who plans to major in English.

 

John F. Elliott Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2001 by his wife, Anne, this scholarship is awarded to a history major in recognition of John's avid reading of historical books and periodicals. By establishing a history scholarship, Mrs. Elliott hoped to encourage future generations of students to become more aware of the past and its significance.

  • declared history major
  • preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need
  • the recipient must be a continuing student in their junior or senior year with an actual GPA of 2.5 or better

The Thomas C. and Dorothy D. Evans Scholarship was established by Donna Burns, Collette Pickett, and Pamella Kolb in memory of their parents, Tom and Dot Evans.

Selection criteria:

  • music education major
  • faculty recommendations shall be considered
  • recipients will take an active role in presenting musical programs to service area schools as a member of the University Concert Choir, the Acapella Choir or other student musical groups (the recipient's responsibilities/activities might include assisting in repertoire selection, presenting a lecture, performing as a soloist, and interacting with students who are interested in pursuing fine arts at USC Aiken).
  • preference shall be given to full-time, undergraduate students with documented financial need and who are majoring in Music Education
  • candidates must be continuing students (sophomores, juniors or seniors) and have an actual GPA of 2.75 or better
  • the scholarship may be renewable subject to the student maintains satisfactory academic progress

The Nuita Feibelmann Scholarship was established by David R. Feibleman in honor of Nuita Feibelman.

Selection criteria:

  • Fine Arts or BIS major with a concentration in theater with a preference for the technical aspects of theater production
  • entering students must have at least an 1100 SAT or equivalent score on a nationally recognized test utilized in the admission decision
  • continuing students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • preference shall be given to scholarship candidates nominated by Department of Fine Arts, theater faculty, specifically including the technical director for the Etherredge Center

 
Dr. Sandra T. Field Vocal Endowed Scholarship Fund

This endowed Scholarship is restricted to degree-seeking choral students enrolled full-time at the University.


 
Thomas Patrick Ferriter Golf Endowed Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • recipient must be a member of the USC Aiken Golf Team
  • recommendations will be made by the Coach of the USC Aiken Golf Team
  • this gift agreement may be modified in whole or in part in order to be in compliance with the rules and regulations of Peachbelt Conference (Division 2 NCAA), its successors and assigns, the USC Aiken Athletic Department and the University.

 

Findley Family Scholarship Endowment Fund

The scholarship will be awarded to a full-time, degree-seeking student.

 
Vernon and Wava Ford Scholarship

The Vernon & Wava Ford Scholarship was established through a contribution by Vernon and Wava Ford from their estate. Mr. and Mrs. Ford contributed $1,000,000 for scholarships to the University. Their contribution represents the largest single gift for the scholarship fund in USC Aiken's history.

Selection criteria:

  • English major
  • degree-seeking student enrolled full-time in the program of study
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

Lonnie A. Garvin Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship was established by Olivia Garvin in honor of her late husband, Lonnie Garvin. 

Selection criteria:

  • resident of Aiken County, South Carolina
  • must be at least a junior with a GPA of 3.0
  • stated intent to study law

 

Johanna Gibbs Baketball Scholarship

The Johanna Gibbs Scholarship was established in 2001 in honor of Johanna Gibbs, the first women's basketball coach at USC Aiken.

Selection criteria:

  • preference will be given to a student-athlete on the women's basketball team
  • GPA or predicted GPA of 2.5 or greater
  • recommendations from the Athletic Director and/or the women's basketball coach shall be considered
  • must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study

 

GlaxoSmithKline Scholarship Fund

 

Golden Age Musical Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • minimum (or predicted) GPA of 3.0
  • Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts; major with a music concentration or any other bachelor's degree with a minor in music
  • full-time enrollment at USC Aiken
  • register for and participate in one ensemble each semester (this requirement may be waived at the discretion of the faculty of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.)
  • ruditions for this scholarship will follow the same guidelines as for music scholarships of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts
  • display a significant interest and appreciation of American popular music (which may include music-theater and jazz)
  • The scholarship recipient will be involved in the study, practice or performance of popular music

Lee Roy and Nan Blake Hallman Memorial Scholarship in Nursing

Established in honor of Lee Roy and Nan Blake by their son, Chancellor Emeritus Tom Hallman. 

Selection criteria:

  • full-time or part-time student(s) at USC Aiken
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing major
  • sophomore with a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • USC Aiken Nursing Faculty Scholarship Committee will determine how many scholarships to offer based upon available income
  • final award recipients will be determined by the Faculty Scholarship Committee based on the recommendation of the Nursing Faculty Scholarship Committee 

 

Lisa Hallman Memorial Scholarship

The Lisa Hallman Memorial Scholarship was established by W. Edwin Hallman, Sr. and W. Edwin Hallman, Jr. in memory of Lisa Hallman.

Selection criteria:

  • Fine Arts major with a preference given to a student in piano
  • recipient must have applied to USC Aiken with the intention of completing or be currently enrolled in a four-year degree program
  • entering students must have at least a 1000 SAT or current equivalent score on a nationally recognized test. If the scholarship is awarded to a continuing student, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • preference for graduates of high schools in Aiken County
  • the USC Aiken Honors, Awards and Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipient

Joyce Harmon-Peters Studio Art Scholarship and Program Endowment

The Joyce Harmon-Peters Studio Art Scholarship and Program Endowment was created to support the study of ceramics within the Studio Art Program at USC Aiken and was established by Dr. and Mrs. Albert H. Peters.


Mary P. Harrington Memorial Scholarship in Nursing

The Mary P. Harrington Memorial Scholarship in Nursing was established by Mrs. Harrington in 1990.

Selection criteria:

  • gull-time student in the School of Nursing at USC Aiken
  • preference shall be given to a single parent with dependent children pursuing a career in nursing to support himself/herself and his/her children
  • priority shall be given to a student with financial need over academic standing although academic potential should be considered.
  • delection of the recipient will be made by the scholarship committee from the School of Nursing who will make their recommendations to the appropriate University faculty scholarship committee

 

Ann Harrison Memorial Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • student(s) with demonstrated financial need shall receive preference
  • freshmen must have a predicted University GPA of 2.5 or better
  • continuing students must have an actual GPA of 2.5 or better

 
Jack and Shirley Hasty Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

  • Supports a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) major
  •  Graduated from an Aiken County School
  • Financial need and academic merit (minimum of 3.0 GPA maintained
  • First preference shall be given to an underrepresented student majoring in Engineering to support educational diversity at USC Aiken consistent with its mission and admissions policy

 

Zoe Jones and Louis J. Hatcher Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Zoe Jones and Louis J. Hatcher Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by Norbert C. Golinski, Jr. 

Selection criteria:

  • the scholarship shall be awarded to a continuing student in the School of Nursing
  • minimum GPA or 2.75 or better.
  • non-traditional female (preferably over 35) with financial need that is seeking a BSN degree is preferred
  • recommendations made by the appropriate School of Nursing faculty may be considered 

 

Harold and Arzella Henson Biology Program Endowment Fund

 
Trudy Henson Sociology Endowment Fund

The scholarship will be awarded to a full-time, degree-seeking student who is majoring in sociology. Recommendations will be made by the Chair of the Sociology Department.


Roberto Hernandez Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • member of the USC Aiken Baseball Team
  • entering students must have an SAT of 1,000 or greater or an equivalent score on a nationally recognized test utilized in the admission decision
  • a returning student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher
  • recommendations from the Director of Athletics and the baseball coach shall be considered
  • this scholarship is renewable is the student maintains the above criteria

 

Richard and Mitzi Herold Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • entering freshman must have a University predicted GPA of 2.75 or better.
  • sophomore, junior or senior must have an actual 2.75 GPA
  • scholarships shall be awarded to full-time, degree-seeking students only
  • consideration may be given for the financial need of the student and given for campus and community activities of the students

 
Richard and Mitzi Herold Choral Endowed Scholarship Fund

Selection criteria:

  • degree-seeking choral student.
  • requires recommendation from the Director of Choral Activities with approval for disbursement from the Chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts

 
Howard S. Hilborn Endowed Scholarship Fund

Selection criteria:

  • degree-seeking full-time student
  • preference to those majoring in scientific fields
  • demonstrated financial need
  • scholarship is renewable

 
Thomas C. Hobbs Memorial Multicultural Endowed Scholarship Fund

Selection criteria:

  • multicultural scholarship(s) provide support for students of underrepresented populations at USC Aiken
  • recipient(s) may be enrolled full or part-time in their program of study
  • scholarship is renewable

 

Dr. Sandra Hochel Communication Scholarship Endowment

Selection criteria:

  • preference for this scholarship shall be given to full-time, undergraduate students who are majoring in Communication
  • for consideration, students must have a minum 2.0 USC system GPA and a 3.0 GPA for the semester before the scholarship is awarded (minimum of 12 hours)
  • preference shall also be given to juniors or seniors who are judged by the faculty as making a significant contribution to the classroom by enhancing the classroom climate and facilitating learning
  • scholarship(s) may be renewed subject to the above conditions

Selection criteria:

  • eecipient must be a full-time, degree-seeking student who is a Music Education major
  • requires cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • demonstrated financial need.
  • scholarship is renewable with a GPA of 2.75 or greater and continued financial need
  • recommendations will be made by the faculty of the University Music Department

 

Frank Holmes Golf Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • scholarship shall be awarded to a golf team member or incoming golf recruit
  • requires recommendations from the Golf Coach and/or Athletic Director
  • minimum 2.5 GPA
  • scholarship may be renewed based on the recommendations from the Golf Coach and/or the Director of Athletics providing that the student maintains satisfactory academic progress

Trilby C. Huff Memorial Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • preference for this scholarship shall be given to a graduate of North Augusta High School or to a student who resides in North Augusta, South Carolina
  • if awarded to an entering student, the student must have at least a 1000 SAT or equivalent score on a nationally recognized test utilized in the admission decision.
  • if awarded to a continuing student, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • preference shall be made to a student who has demonstrated desire in the area of Public Service, with a career goal in pre-law

 

Huffer Endowed Scholarship in Education Fund
Selection criteria:

  • Education major
  • preference to recipient(s) with demonstrated financial need
  • must enroll full time each semester in the program of study
  • scholarship is renewable if the student still has demonstrated financial need
  • student must maintain a GPA of 2.75 or higher

 

Vonice B. Hughes Memorial Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • recipient(s) of this scholarship shall be a full-time student at USC Aiken.
  • student shall be at least a sophomore with at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA or an entering freshman who has scored at least 1000 on the SAT or its equivalent.

 

Lois Jean McFadden Hunter Endowed Nursing Scholarship Fund

The scholarship was established by Scott and Eleanor Hunter to keep the memory of Lois and her fine work alive. 

Selection criteria:

  • full-time, degree-seeking student(s) majoring in Nursing
  • recipient must be a junior or senior with a demonstrated drive for excellence
  • recommendations will be made by the Dean of the School of Nursing
  • this scholarship is renewable

The Joseph Jiunnies Memorial Athletic Scholarship was established by the children of Joe and Georgena Jiunnies with the intention of supporting athletic scholarships at USC Aiken. 

Selection criteria:

  • preference to student-athlete
  • actual or predicted GPA in range of 2.5 to 3.5
  • order of preference: Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Golf
  • must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study.

Selection criteria:

  • preference to student-athlete
  • further preference to Baseball player majoring in Exercise and Sports Science

Selection criteria:

  • Engineering major
  • Aiken County resident
  • freshman with predicted University GPA of 2.75 or greater or Sophomore, Junior or Senior with 2.75 GPA or greater
  • demonstrated financial need
  • must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study

 

Mac Johnston Leadership Award

Selection criteria:

  • rising Senior
  • minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA or greater
  • dynamic leadership involvement in one or more USC Aiken student organizations and/or community
  • demonstrated good citizenship
  • an essay is required
  • must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study

 
Linda W. Johnston Nursing Scholarship

Selection criteria:

  • Nursing major
  • active member of USC Aiken Student Nurses Association
  • GPA consistent with progression in Nursing program
  • completed or enrolled in at least one semester of BSN clinical coursework
  • must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study

 
Margaret Simonson Jones Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund 

Selection criteria:

  • preference is given to those who attended a high school in the Aiken County Public School District
  • preference is given to those with demonstrated financial need
  • must enroll full-time in the program of study
  • scholarships are renewable providing student continues to demonstrate financial need and maintains a satisfactory academic progress (GPA of 2.75 or greater)

 

Lila K. Joyner Memorial Nursing Scholarship

The Lila K. Joyner Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established by Mr. Sutton Joyner in memory of his wife, Lila K. Joyner.

Selection criteria:

  • Nursing major
  • sophomore, junior or senior

  • must enroll full-time each semester in the program of study
