The Miles and Ann Loadholt Scholarship was established by Miles and Ann Loadholt to create scholarships to assist students who, based on past performance, have demonstrated leadership characteristics and skills that will benefit the state and region. Miles Loadholt is on the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees.

Selection criteria:

  • preference to Barnwell County residents or graduates from Barnwell County high schools
  • entering freshmen with predicted GPA of 3.0 or greater or continuing students with actual GPA of 3.0

Sam Marsh Memorial Golf Scholarship

The Sam Marsh Memorial Golf Scholarship was established in memory of Sam Marsh, the golf pro at Houdslake Country Club. Sam Marsh was known as one of the best golf teachers in the state. His brothers and his friends at Houndslake Country Club combined his love for young people and his love of golf by establishing this scholarship.

The Vicki Ann Parrot Circle K Endowment Scholarship was established by Bill Rhoden, 1977 USC Aiken alum, in memory of his former classmate. Mr. Rhoden and Ms. Parrot were members of Circle K while they were students at USC Aiken. 

Selection criteria:

  • scholarship is given to full-time, undergraduate students who are members of the USC Aiken Circle K Club and are in good standing with emphasis on the student's involvement in school and community service
  • recommendation will come from the Circle K Advisor
  • recipient(s) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater
  • scholarship is renewable subject to the student maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater

The Lew Perkins Basketball Scholarship was established by the USC Aiken Athletic Department in honor of Lew Perkins. Perkins became the University's first athletic director in 1969 when he was only 24.

Josephine Armstrong Phillips was an honor graduate of the nursing class at USC Aiken in 1973.
