CALL FOR PROPOSALS: SCPOMLE Best Practices Session

The South Carolina Professors of Middle Level Education (SCPOMLE) invite you to submit a proposal to present a “best practices” session on Friday, March 5, 2021. During the virtual conference, SCPOMLE participants will be offered a series of breakout sessions. Each breakout session will last 20 minutes and will include a 10-minute pre-recorded presentation. Each session will include a question and answer/discussion segment.

The Annual Conference Theme “Set the Stage” offers an opportunity for the middle level community to reconvene and reconnect on a virtual platform to discuss shared responsibility to each other and pre-service teachers, share best practices, and design new ways to engage the middle level community. SC POMLE welcomes proposals that highlight:

  • effective technology and virtual instruction in education programs and services;
  • education leadership in the next decade in response to changing demographic, technological, and economic trends;
  • designing sustainable programs, campus communities, and partnerships with local stakeholders;
  • creative strategies for the effective teaching according to middle level philosophy;
  • access, diversity, and inclusion in higher education;
  • best practices in measuring outcomes and impact;
  • frameworks for teaching in-depth lesson planning and designing culturally relevant curriculum for diverse learners;
  • mental health and self-care in the international education field and support strategies for students, scholars, and staff;
  • educators’ response to a climate of socio-political change;
  • strategies at Hispanic-serving institutions and community and technical colleges; and
  • ensuring positive student outcomes and employability.

Deadline: Proposals must be submitted electronically to the committee no later than Monday, February 1, 2021.
