Newly Admitted Students
Congratulations again on your admission to USC Aiken and welcome to our campus community! There are a few steps before you begin classes. You can begin working on the following items:
- 1). Set-Up Usernames and Passwords
-
- Self Service Carolina, your USC Aiken student e-mail account and more. These are your tools to conduct official business with the University – apply for SC residency, accept financial aid offers, apply for housing, sign up for orientation, communicate with faculty, etc.
- See how to set up usernames and passwords
- 2). Submit Your Deposit and Confirm Enrollment
-
- Log into Self Service Carolina to submit your deposit and secure your place in the class.
- 3). Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
-
- Early submission of your FAFSA can be crucial. You should apply as soon as possible to receive consideration for financial aid. The new FAFSA is available (www.fafsa.gov) each year on January 1. The USC Aiken financial aid school code is 003449. Students entering USC Aiken for the Fall semester will receive their financial aid offer (assuming FAFSA has been submitted and approved) online via Self Service Carolina beginning in early April.
- For more information, go to Financial Aid
- 4). Sign up for Orientation
- 5). Apply for Housing
- 6). Citizenship and Residency
-
- If you wish to claim SC in-state residency for tuition and state scholarship purposes, please do so by logging in to your SSC account and completing the “South Carolina Residency Certification” process (button at the top right of the SSC Student tab). The certification process also includes Richmond or Columbia County, Georgia citizens applying for in-state tuition rates at USC Aiken.
- Verify your citizenship (if you have not submitted the FAFSA)
- 7). Return Immunization Form
-
- We need proof – doctor's signature or copy – that the student has had their measles, mumps, and rubella two shot series. International students from many countries must also provide proof of tuberculosis screening. Further information about this requirement is included on the immunization form. Students planning to live on campus will also need to provide proof of vaccination for meningitis.
