Chet Longley, MFA
Chet Longley is an Associate Professor of Theatre and serves as the Scenic/Lighting Designer and Technical Director for the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at USC Aiken.
Chet’s scenic and lighting designs have appeared on stage at USC Aiken, Trustus Theatre, Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, Wofford College, The Village Square Theatre and Highlands Playhouse. His designs at USCA have earned eleven faculty awards for meritorious achievement in theatrical design from Region IV of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
As a Technical Director and theatre artisan, Chet has served on the staffs of Flat Rock Playhouse, Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Olney Playhouse, and Cumberland County Playhouse.
Chet holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Appalachian State University and an M.F.A in Scenic and Lighting Design from the University of Arkansas, is a member of the Southeastern Theatre Conference (where he served as Chairman of the College & University Division), the United States Institute for Theater Technology and the South Carolina Theatre Association.
