The allied health concentration prepares students to apply to specialized certification programs in areas such as nuclear medicine, sonography (both rest and exercise), respiratory therapy, physical therapy assistant (PTA), occupational therapy assistant (OTA), cardiac rehabilitation, athletic training, dietetics, personal training, and other select exercise, education, and therapeutic allied health-related areas.
To graduate, the student must have a USC System cumulative 2.75 GPA. Enrollment in EXSC 440W and EXSC 441 requires a USC System cumulative 2.75 GPA. Following each semester where the student’s USC System cumulative GPA is below 2.75, the Exercise and Sports Science Chair will notify the student in writing. The completion of the degree requirements for the Exercise and Sports Science major with a concentration in Allied Health requires 121 - 123 total credit hours.
