Alertus for Windows

Alertus enables USCA Public Safety to send real-time Emergency Notifications and information directly to your computer screen. This provides timely, building specific emergency information in situations where time is of the essence. Notifications will be similar to the one shown here.
Alertus is installed on all campus owned computers and is also available for voluntary self-installation on personally owned systems. If you'd like to install Alertus on your personal computer or laptop, just follow the simple installation instructions below.
NOTE: Alertus may only be installed while connected to the campus network (either while on-campus or when connect to the network via VPN). You will not be able to install Alertus while off-campus unless you are connected to VPN.

You will be promoted with a dialog similar to the one shown here. Click Run.
Then click Yes, as shown below.
Alertus should install automatically within just a few seconds. You will know Alertus is installed and active when you see the icon shown here in the Task Tray near your clock. This icon will look as shown while active, when inactive (when you're not connected to the network or are off-campus) the icon will turn red.
Additional options are available by right-clicking the Alertus icon in your system tray.
PRESS FOR HELP: acts as a virtual panic button. Clicking this will send an immediate notification to Public Safety, alerting them to an emergency in your area.
Status: shows the current status displayed on this pop-up menu. The status should show as operational and green while you're connected to the campus network. If not, please contact the Help Desk for assistance.
