Aurora Pavilion
Aurora Pavilion is an acute care, crisis stabilization program offering short-term inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization and adult intensive outpatient treatment programs. Assistantship responsibilities primarily include conducting group therapy and psychosocial intakes.
USC Aiken Counseling Center
The USC Aiken Counseling Center provides counseling services to university students. Assistantship duties primarily include conducting intake interviews with students.
USC Aiken Psychology Clinic
The UofSC Aiken Psychology Clinic is the department clinic where graduate students see clients from the community, primarily in individual therapy. Assistantship duties include seeing clients in individual therapy, conducting intakes for the parenting and anger management groups, and administrative duties (e.g., reviewing charts).
Tri-Development Center (TDC)
The TDC is a disability program that provides services to the developmentally disabled (e.g., mental retardation, autism, brain injuries). Assistantship duties primarily include creating and implanting behavioral treatment plans for consumers.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehab is a program housed on the USC Aiken campus that provides services to those in the community who had a recent cardiac event (e.g., heart attack). Assistantship duties primarily involve assessing individuals for depression and anxiety, making the appropriate referral for further services if needed, and conducting psychosocial groups (e.g., stress management).
Introductory Psychology Teaching Assistant
Assistantships in the USC Aiken Psychology Department involve working as a teaching assistant in select sections of Introductory Psychology classes and Statistics. Responsibilities include assisting the Professor in administrative duties, running lab class sections, office hours, and grading.
