PURPOSE
To provide routine and emergency access to the campus community 24 hours a day and to ensure safe passage around campus.
PROCEDURE
It shall be the duty of all University Police officers to respond promptly to the request and needs of any person utilizing the emergency phone system. If the officer will be delayed an estimated time of arrival should be given.
It shall be the duty of all University Police officers to admit authorized students, faculty, staff and other authorized persons to buildings after normal business hours. All persons authorized to enter buildings after normal business hours must show proper identification and officer will note on shift report who was granted access. No outside visitors or guests will be allowed after normal business hours.
It shall be the duty of the University Police officers to weekly test all emergency phones, and report any malfunctioning call boxes to Computer Services Division.
ESCORTS
To ensure safe passage to and from vehicles, student housing, classes and buildings while on the USCA campus, it shall be the duty of all University Police officers to provide escorts upon request to students, faculty, staff and visitors on the USCA campus.
Officers on foot, bike or vehicular patrol may provide escorts.
Officers should respond promptly and give an estimated time of arrival.
