The GPS address is 1 Bridgestone Parkway, Graniteville, SC. Going North on Bettis Academy Rd., it is on the left about a mile past I-20.
Go to the Shipping Entrance if you are traveling by bus. Go to the Main Entrance if you are traveling by car. At the gate, tell them you are there for a BEEP program at the Environmental Learning Center (ELC). Someone will lead you there.
Q: How do I get to the Bridgestone OFF Road Plant (ORR)?
The GPS address is 7777 Giant Tire Parkway, Trenton, SC. Going North on Bettis Academy Rd., you will turn right at the Sage Mill sign about ¾ mile past I-20. Follow the road around until you see another Bridgestone sign on the right. Turn right onto that road and proceed to the gate.
At the gate, tell them you are there for a BEEP program. Continue through until the road curves, almost at the Plant. Someone will meet you at the curve in the road. Students will disembark here; cars/buses will continue around to the parking lot.
Q: How much does it cost?
There is no charge for students or adults. Bridgestone completely funds this program!
Q: How do I cancel a visit to BEEP?
If you have confirmed a registration for a program and find you must cancel, we MUST have written notification of your cancellation at least 4 weeks prior to the reserved date or a cancellation fee will be assessed. This does not apply to cancellations due to weather or other natural events.
Q: How many students may I bring to the BEEP?
There is a maximum of 60 students per day (students rotate through 3 programs). • Some programs are labeled as 2 groups per day (Max. number should not exceed 50)
Q: What should I do in case of delay or inclement weather?
Call or text Kimberly Fickling on her cell at 803-300-4488.
If it is only a light sprinkle, we may continue as planned. Dress accordingly.
If the weather is too cold or rainy & you need to cancel, call or text Kimberly ASAP.
If a trip has to be cancelled, we will try to reschedule for a later date, if at all possible.
The teacher will make the final call about cancelling due to weather. (No cancellation fee will be assessed.)
Q: What should we bring?
If your group plans to stay for lunch, participants should bring bag lunches and drinks. Lunch and restroom facilities are available at BEEP. Bridgestone does not have food available.
In warm weather, participants should bring a refillable water bottle in addition to their lunch drink.
Q: What should we wear?
We will be outside ALL day. Dress according to the weather.
Wear long pants and close-toed shoes. We will do a fair amount of walking over uneven ground.
Q: Should I bring chaperones?
YES! We will be out in nature all morning. We need to have adequate supervision to make sure this is a safe learning experience.
Chaperones should NOT bring additional children.
Follow your district guidelines for the number of chaperones to bring.
There should be at least one adult per 8 students (more adults for younger students).
Q: Can accommodations be made for mobility-impaired students?
Yes; however, we need to know in advance if you have students who cannot walk about one mile at a slow pace.
