The University of South Carolina Aiken has once again been named one of the best universities in the nation for military veterans. In the recently released report Military Times Best for Vets 2023 Colleges, USC Aiken ranked 47 out of 325 colleges and universities nationwide.
Veterans, military students, and their families account for approximately 12% of USC Aiken students. The university's Office of Veteran and Military Student Success serves as a central resource for veteran and military students looking to further their education. The office provides financial scholarships and support with the GI Bill, as well as facilitates connection with the university's academic and student activities divisions.
The university was also recognized earlier this year as a top 10 school for veterans by Military Friendly.
Military Times Best for Vets Colleges is the largest and most comprehensive annual ranking of schools for military service members and veterans. Each year, the survey is sent to colleges and universities asking about their programs for veterans. The survey results are then analyzed, along with public data obtained from the Department of Education and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Schools were then asked to complete a survey and responses were then analyzed by the Military Times data team.
The ranking comes as USC Aiken's Veteran and Military Student Success kicks off its Empowering Healthy Veterans Campaign, which focuses on success for military veterans and the health of the community.
