Middle school is a critical time of growth and development for students as they prepare for high school. You can make meaningful contributions to middle school students in grades 5–8 with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Level Education from the University of South Carolina Aiken.

You’ll benefit from a broad-based curriculum and will choose one or two subject areas for your specialization from 10 different concentration options.

  • In-class and in-the-field training. As a USCA middle level education major, you’ll learn how to teach in your selected subject area(s). On campus, you’ll put that into practice in exceptional facilities, including the Alumni Learning Center, the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center, and The Children’s Center for child development. Plus, all our education majors benefit from 750+ hours of classroom experience, through study abroad or internships with local schools, including teaching in a Department of Defense Education Activity school.
  • Faculty expertise and mentorship throughout your studies. All our middle level education degree faculty are experienced K–12 teachers with advanced degrees. You’ll enjoy personal career advising and mentoring, which has made our graduates sought-after teachers at partner school districts.
