Guidelines for International Applications
To apply for admission as an international student, you must complete all application requirements.
Learn more about application requirements
What type of application should you complete?
International Freshman - if you are an international student who has never been enrolled at a post-secondary college or university.
International Transfer Student - if you are an international student who was/is enrolled in another post-secondary college or university either in the United States or another country and would like to transfer course credit into an undergraduate program at USC Aiken.
Note: If you currently hold an undergraduate degree and would like to seek another bachelor's degree, please apply as an international transfer student.
English Proficiency Requirements
Applicants who do not use English as their language of everyday use must demonstrate proficiency in spoken and written English. This helps ensure students who speak English as a second language are able to participate fully in the classroom and be successful both academically and socially.
International students educated in countries whose primary language is not English who meet all admissions requirements except for the English language requirement are eligible to apply for conditional admission to USC Aiken. Students do not need a TOEFL or IELTS score for conditional admission. Conditional admission means that USC Aiken has determined the applicant to be academically admissible, based on their academic record and other university requirements. However, before moving into full admission status and beginning to take university classes, students will need to document a high level of academic English ability, either by meeting USC Aiken’s TOEFL or IELTS requirements or through completion of appropriate levels of their intensive English program coursework at one of USCA’s partner institutions. To apply for conditional admission, please follow the application instructions for international freshman or transfer admission as appropriate. Then send an e-mail to USC Aiken’s International Enrollment Counselor, Sara Snyder, at SaraS@usca.edu expressing your interest in conditional admission.
International students applying for undergraduate admission at USC Aiken must ensure all required documentation is received by USC Aiken Office of Admissions by the following deadlines:
- Fall (mid-August) of 2018 --- July 15, 2018
- Spring (early January) of 2019 --- November 15, 2019 (will open September 2018)
Applications cannot be considered for admission until the USC Aiken Office of Admissions has received ALL required application materials.
