IACUC

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee

The USCA Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is comprised of a veterinarian, scientists, non-scientists, and community members to ensure the ethical and humane care and use of animals in teaching and research at USCA. The IACUC meets at least semi-annually and is responsible for reviewing and approving all use of animals by faculty and students in research, teaching, and demonstrations, conducting annual inspections of all animal facilities for compliance with national standards of animal welfare and safety protocols, and providing training to all users of animals consistent with federal guidelines on care and use.
