Accepted Students
Once you accept your offer of Admission and deposit, you are added to our processing queue to articulate your eligible transfer coursework. Although processing times vary, please allow up to three weeks for the comprehensive review and articulation of your official transcripts if you are enrolling in the next scheduled academic term. You will receive email notification once your transfer credit has been processed.
Transfer articulation is the initial processing of your official transcript(s) from outside institutions. Once a transcript is processed, you will see your eligible transfer coursework populate on your DegreeWorks audit (you can access DegreeWorks in Self-Service).
If a transfer course doesn’t already have an established USCA equivalency, a course evaluation must be completed, with feedback from the relevant department. If a course must be evaluated when initially articulated, you will see it listed in DegreeWorks with the subject code “UNDR” (i.e., under review). Numerical duplicates of “UNDR” courses initially populate in the Not Counted section. Once the course has been evaluated, it will be re-articulated and updated in DegreeWorks. This is a process that typically takes 1-2 weeks after your initial transfer articulation. Note: Course evaluations are universal. They are NOT specific to an individual student’s degree requirements. The outcome of a course evaluation is how the course will transfer ALL incoming students from that institution.
Transfer students should be aware that the transferability of a course does not guarantee applicability towards specific program/degree requirements. Additionally, courses with direct equivalency may instead articulate as free elective credit, based on the age of the completed coursework (dependent on subject area). Students should work closely with their academic advisors regarding their outstanding requirements and progress towards graduation.
For general questions about transfer credit, please email transfercredit@usca.edu.
Note: Processing priority is given to students enrolling in the next academic term. Our office experiences a high volume of transfer articulation and course evaluation processing in the weeks before and after each start of term, as well as registration periods in March and October. Please reply to your Offer of Admission and deposit in a timely manner to allow time for us to fully process your eligible transfer coursework. This will facilitate a smooth advisement process and help you make informed decisions regarding your registration and class schedule.
