Help businesses and organizations improve with a Process Engineering degree at USCA

So much of today’s economy revolves around manufacturers finding the best, most efficient ways to make the products people need.

ABET Logo

A process engineering degree at the University of South Carolina Aiken puts you in the driver’s seat of helping industry rise to those challenges. Our rigorous and comprehensive degree is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET under the commission’s General Criteria, with no applicable program criteria.

You’ll combine a foundation in mechanical engineering and systems analysis with business courses to become an expert in solving real-world industry problems in the Palmetto State and beyond.

Program Highlights

At USCA, we’re committed to combining a detailed curriculum with practical opportunities to test your skills. Our process engineering degree stands out for its:

High-level internship opportunities
You’ll work with professional process engineers when you complete part-time internships during the school year or full-time during the summer. With so many internship opportunities, you’ll graduate with real-world experience and industry connections.

State-of-the-art engineering lab
Process engineering majors have access to an engineering lab designed for small groups and equipped with all you need to practice and apply the principles you learn in class, from various methods of flow measurement and heat conduction to pressure and hardness tests.

Electives to customize your degree
Our curriculum is designed to give you a taste of everything, but you can tailor your degree to your career even more with technical electives in your senior year. Use this flexibility to dive deeper into the topics that interest you and make your process engineering degree unique.

Industry-sponsored capstone
Your senior year includes a yearlong industry-sponsored capstone project. During this capstone, process engineering majors work on a real challenge faced by a local organization. You’ll apply your knowledge to industry needs and learn how to problem-solve in a professional setting—all while completing a project that can be shown off to future employers.

“USCA’s Process Engineering Program has equipped me with the necessary skills to succeed in my career. This program not only teaches technical information but also provides knowledge on how the business side of industry operates.”
