The mission of the Callen Center for Engaged Teaching & Learning is to promote, support, and enhance teaching and learning effectiveness at the USCA.

The Callen Center for Engaged Teaching & Learning will continue to support traditional instruction needs while serving as a catalyst of educational transformation, assisting faculty in learning, developing, and implementing new forms of instruction as pedagogical theories, innovative practices, and new technologies evolve.

Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex of students and employees of educational institutions that receive federal financial assistance. USC Aiken does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs and in other activities operated by the University and is required by Title IX, and specifically 34 C.F.R. § 106.11, not to discriminate in such a manner. Mental Health
Mental health concerns or stressful events may lead to diminished academic performance or reduce a student's ability to participate in daily activities. Confidential and free services are available to assist you with addressing these and other concerns you may be experiencing. You can learn more about mental health services available on campus and in the community via the Counseling Center website or by calling 803-641-3609. If you are having a mental health emergency, you may call the Aiken County HELP LINE at 877-648-9900.

Mode of instruction (MOI)
The University of South Carolina Aiken reserves the right to change, adjust, and/or cancel any campus operation, including but not limited to, mode of instruction, delivery of services, or use of campus facilities, whenever the campus administration determines in its sole discretion that circumstances warrant the operational change. 

Academic Support Services
Academic support services are available in the Student Success Center in the Library. These services include academic coaching, tutoring, the Math Lab, and advising assistance.

Gregg-Graniteville Library Resources on Teaching and Learning

Thanks to the hard work of Professor Keri Weaver, USCA now has access to a wealth of both print and electronic categorized resources on Teaching and Learning. Once you enter the site, there are four tabs to choose from: Teaching and Learning Journals; EBooks at the Gregg-Graniteville Library; Teaching and Learning Journals in the Discipline, and; Books from the Gregg-Graniteville Library. The CTE, working in conjunction with the Library staff, will be continually updating this site with additional resources on teaching and learning.
