The Callen Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning (CCETL) is excited to facilitate The Master Teachers Series. This series of interconnected workshops enables faculty to concentrate on select topics related to pedagogical thought and practice. The Master Teachers Series is a certificate-earning initiative.

Sponsored by the Callen Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning, The Master Writers Series consists of select interconnected workshops providing faculty with practical tips and strategies to approach, engage with, and produce impactful writing that is both personally rewarding and professionally recognized. The Master Writer’s Series is a certificate-earning initiative.

During the Fall semester, faculty new to the USCA campus will participate in a series of workshops designed to connect them with essential resources and key faculty and staff from across campus. These casual, conversational sessions will provide targeted information to assist new faculty transition to campus life at USCA. New Faculty CONNECTions is a certificate-earning initiative.

The Callen Center offers two faculty training opportunities – Peer Mentoring and Peer Observation of Teaching. These training serve to maintain high quality teaching, foster progressive growth and collaboration, and, ultimately, to enhance student success.

Advisor Academy is designed to help onboard new Faculty Advisors and serve as a professional development opportunity for existing Faculty Advisors. Faculty will be better prepared to start or continue advising students by attending these sessions. Further, we hope faculty will feel connected to other faculty and staff across campus, allowing easier referrals. Advisor Academy is a certificate-earning initiative.

In partnership with the Gregg-Graniteville Library, the Callen Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning (CCETL) is excited to facilitate the Library Advantage Workshop (LAW) Series. This series of workshops enables faculty to connect with librarian colleagues in meaningful ways, exploring strategies to enhance teaching, support student learning, and strengthen the impact of research. Each session highlights practical approaches and creative collaborations that demonstrate the powerful role librarians play across disciplines. These sessions aren’t just about what’s in the library—they’re about what’s possible when we work together. The Library Advantage Workshop Series is a certificate-earning initiative.

The Callen Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning (CCETL) is proud to sponsor Frankly Faculty, a series of monthly roundtable discussions focused on a topic of interest and engagement.

On the Same Page is a common book read initiative designed to engage USCA faculty in shared intellectual experiences that promote dialogue, reflection, and community building. Faculty from across disciplines will explore themes related to teaching, social issues, or institutional values, creating opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and personal growth.

Join the Callen Center to learn the basics of artificial intelligence, how to get started using it, and learn more about how the university is doing our part to keep up with ethical AI utilization.

Remote Teaching Certification is an asynchronous training course available to all faculty. The course contains three modules crucial for online teaching success. These include learning how to use Blackboard, learning about accessibility and accommodations, building a syllabus, and starting the process of designing or revamping your online course.
