Campus Recreation & Wellness

Student Employment

The Division of Student Life and Services is the largest employer of students at USCA. The Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness employs 30-40 students annually. Our hiring times are typically April for the following fall semester and November for the spring semester. We also have positions open throughout the summer months. Here are some of the leadership roles we provide to our students:

Wellness Center and Natatorium:

Wellness Center Attendant:  An entry-level position that manages the desk operations at the Wellness Center.

Lifeguard:  An entry-level position that oversees the safety of the Natatorium.  

Cardiac Rehab Student Assistants:  A higher level position that provides coverage and individualized attention to the patients within the Cardiac Rehab programs. Exercise Sport Science and Nursing majors are preferred. 

Student Marketing Assistant:  Creates marketing materials for the programs and services at the Wellness Center and Natatorium. This position requires marketing, graphic design, and social media skills. 

Exercise is Medicine Student Coordinator: A higher level position that coordinates and teaches the Exercise is Medicine program.  

PacerFit Student Coordinator: A higher-level position coordinating the PacerFit and Lift Right workshop programs. 

60 Plus Seniors Program Student Coordinator: A higher-level position that coordinates the 60 Plus Seniors activities. 

Group Fitness Instructor:  Teaches a variety of group fitness classes within the Campus Recreation & Wellness department. (Group Fitness Certification Required.  There is an EXSC academic class taught during Spring semesters to teach people how to teach group fitness classes. 

Personal Trainer:  Evaluates an individual’s current fitness level and creates an individualized exercise program based on a person’s health and fitness goals.  (Personal Training Certification required)

Intramural Sports

Intramural Sports Officials: An entry-level position officiating the various intramural sports that occur throughout the semester. We provide training for each of the sports. 

Intramural Sports Supervisors: A higher level position overseeing the intramural sports games.

Intramural Sports Student Coordinator: The highest student position within the intramural sports program.  This person assists the assistant director of Recreation with the overall intramural sports program. 

Student Marketing Assistant:  Creates marketing materials for the programs and services the Intramural and Club Sports programs and Healthy 4 Life initiatives provide. This position requires marketing, graphic design, and social media skills.
