BEEP (Bridgestone Environmental Education Program)

BEEP is a cooperative effort between USCA/Ruth Patrick Science Center and the Bridgestone Sites in Graniteville and Trenton.

This effort aims to enhance the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills of students in grades 4-12. The environmental education programs offer hands-on experiences in a stimulating environmental setting. Implementing these programs at both Bridgestone sites encourages students and teachers to experience science and mathematics in exciting yet challenging ways.

How do I get to the Bridgestone PSR/LTR Plant?

• The GPS address is 1 Bridgestone Parkway, Graniteville, SC. Going North on Bettis Academy Rd., it is on the left about a mile past I-20.
• Enter through the Shipping Entrance. At the gate, tell them you are there for a BEEP program at the Environmental Learning Center (ELC). You should receive a sheet with directions to get to the ELC.  The directions to the ELC: Once through the security gate, you will drive to the end of the solar fields.  You should see an ELC sign on your left. Turn onto the gravel road and follow the signs to the parking area. An instructor will meet you in the parking area.

How do I get to the Bridgestone OFF Road Plant (ORR)?

• The GPS address is 7777 Giant Tire Parkway, Trenton, SC. Going North on Bettis Academy Rd., you will turn right at the Sage Mill sign about ¾ mile past I-20. Follow the road around until you see another Bridgestone sign on the right. Turn right onto that road and proceed to the gate.
• At the gate, tell them you are there for a BEEP program. Continue through until the road curves; almost at the plant. Someone will meet you at the curve in the road by the BEEP sign. Students will disembark here; cars/buses will continue around to the parking lot.
