Open to Middle and High School Students

Cost: $70 for six 90-minute sessions

Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays, November 2–18

Time: 3:30–5:00 p.m.

Description
Have you ever wanted to create your own Roblox game? In this hands-on introductory course, students will learn the fundamentals of Roblox Studio while designing and building their own playable obstacle course (obby).

Students will become familiar with the Roblox Studio interface and learn essential building techniques, including selecting, moving, scaling, rotating, duplicating, locking, and anchoring objects. They will organize projects using Explorer, Properties, models, and folders while discovering how snapping, collisions, studs, and degrees help create accurate, polished builds.

As their projects take shape, students will customize their games with textures, decals, lighting, terrain, sound effects, particle effects, and other visual enhancements. The course also covers the safe and responsible use of Roblox Toolbox assets and best practices for building original content.

By the end of the course, each student will have designed, organized, tested, and published a unique Roblox obby to share with friends and family.

Note: This introductory course focuses on building and game design and does not include scripting. An intermediate Roblox Studio course covering Lua scripting and interactive gameplay will be offered in the spring.

Requirements: Students must have an active Roblox account before the first class and should know the email address and password associated with their account so they can log in to Roblox Studio during class.

To register, please provide your student's name, age, and favorite Roblox game.
