Purpose
The engineering lab at our institution is dedicated to fostering hands-on learning and innovation by providing students with access to advanced equipment and tools. This space is designed to bridge theoretical concepts and practical applications, enabling students to gain comprehensive knowledge in areas such as material testing, dynamics, and fabrication.
The lab is structured into two key areas: Instrumentation and Measurement Lab and Heat Transfer Lab, each equipped with specialized machinery and tools tailored to their respective disciplines. With machines such as the free and forced vibration apparatus, tensile testers, and precision drill presses, the lab serves as a hub for experimentation and skill development. Our mission is to equip future engineers with the competence and confidence to excel in professional environments by offering a safe, resource-rich environment to explore engineering principles.
Capabilities
The engineering lab has state-of-the-art tools and machinery, enabling students to engage in diverse engineering applications. Its capabilities include material testing with tensile, compression, and Brinell hardness testers, dynamic analysis using free and forced vibration setups, and precision fabrication. The lab also supports advanced prototyping with laser cutters and waterjet systems, facilitating projects that require intricate design and precision. Additional resources include a universal testing machine for comprehensive material characterization and a range of general-purpose tools for assembly and experimentation. This versatile environment empowers students to tackle real-world engineering challenges, perform rigorous testing, and bring innovative ideas to fruition.
