40th Anniversary

Etherredge Center

In 1986, the Etherredge Center opened with a rollicking concert by jazz legend, Dizzy Gillespie; in fact, some of you might even have been in attendance with us! Over the last four decades, the Cultural Series has been the heART of Aiken and the CSRA, bringing in amazing and talented national and international performing artists like Jessye Norman, the Russian National Ballet, the Aquila Theatre, the Yamato Drummers of Japan, and more!

As we embark upon our 40th Anniversary season, we are proud to showcase a lineup of performers and performances that have thrilled our audiences in the past—a “best of” series, if you will. We kick off the season with the powerful horns and vocals of one of the most popular big bands to grace our stage, The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, on September 12. A special black-tie VIP option will be offered for this concert. They are followed up by what is sure to be a popular event, an intimate cabaret-style performance by multi-instrumentalists Jerron Paxton and Dennis Lichtman. This exclusive lobby concert on November 17 will feature delicious charcuterie cups and a cash bar. On February 2, we are honored to kick off Black History Month with a performance of Breach of Peace, telling the story of the Freedom Riders, by the supremely talented Mike Wiley. On March 21, the whole family will want to be here for the high-energy music, dance, and painting spectacular, ARTrageous, who have been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, Good Morning America, and just completed a residency at Dollywood. We close out the season with a stunning performance on April 3 by Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, called Quinto Elemento.
